Jeongyeon (Korean: 정연; Japanese: ジョンヨン) is a Korean singer under JYP Entertainment. She is the Lead Vocalist of TWICE.


Career[]

2015: Debut with TWICE[]

On May 5, 2015 Jeongyeon became a contestant on JYP's newest reality show SIXTEEN. In the last episode, she was part of the final lineup to debut in a girl group.[1] On October 20m 2015, Jeongyeon debuted as an official member of TWICE with their first mini album The Story Begins.

2016: Muscle Queen and Inkigayo[]

On Jan 18, Jeongyeon was confirmed as a contestant/mentee on KBS's reality show "Muscle Queen", which would be broadcasting not long later.[2][3][4] A few months later on May 18, she also was confirmed to appear on "Law of the Jungle" as well.[5][6] Furthermore, she was welcomed as a new MC for Inkigayo along with her sister Seung-yeon and Kim Min-seok.[7][8]

2020: Hiatus[]

In October 2020, JYP announced that Jeongyeon will take a break from activities due to psychological anxiety. Therefore, she will not participate in promotions for Eyes Wide Open.[9]
